Finland is the Most Interesting Mining Area in the World

Elias Ekhdal Euromining - avolouhos
– Finland’s mining industry is part of an international field, which will show strongly during the EuroMining 2015 trade fair in May. Our mining industry operates under the same principles as in any other part of the world, so discussion of the field’s challenges and possibilities must be discussed both from a global and Finnish perspective, says retired Director General Elias Ekdahl of the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).

Finland’s location in Europe’s oldest and most solid bedrock, the Fennoscandian Shield, makes it geologically even more interesting.

According to reviews by the international mining industry, Finland is the most interesting mining area in the world. (Fraser Institute, Survey of Mining Companies: 2012/2013)
